It may have been the headache and excessive coffee consumption that drove me to it, or it may have been the frustration of near-satisfaction which caused me to surface from the dark depths of my coffee cup. It’s now been a while since I tasted a great cup of coffee – plenty of ok, or semi-great coffees, but nothing with that big wow – and we all know how frustrating it is to nearly reach satisfaction, but not quite. So wanting to avoid the disappointment once again, I caught the flicker of a memory of an old flame. Tea.
This delightful little thing ended up on my table at a recent visit to The Counter Cafe in Hackney, great art in such a small cup… It tasted pretty good too.
London coffee shop Tapped and Packed recently adopted a Bunn Trifecta to play around with. I trundled over to test the results, and chose a coffee I am already familiar with through various brewing methods and very fond of: Square Mile’s Tegu AA from Kenya. For such an expensive (though quite ugly) gadget which has had it’s share of non-committal hype, my interest was piqued even if my expectations were on the wary side.
Have had some major site problems and now in the process of uploading all posts again. Sorry if you visisted, got excited, visited again and got disappointed…
Should be back up and running soon.
